Dear Church Family,
We are in unprecedented days for our nation and I know that you are struggling with the concerns of this moment. If your family is like mine you are stressed to the max! You are being stretched in ways you never imagined, you are overwhelmed with the feeling of helplessness in this moment. Can I be spiritual for a moment and simply remind you of some promises and principles from God’s Word that I hope will feed your faith.
The Psalmist reminds us….
Psalm 121:2 (NKJV)
2My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
God asked the question of Jeremiah the prophet…
Jeremiah 32:27 (NKJV)
27 “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?
And because the answer to that question is that there is nothing too hard for God, God then directs Jeremiah to… Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV) 3 ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’
In moments when fear seeks to drive us into despair and depression please remember that “God is a very present help in time of trouble.”
Now I need to let you know that we are here for you, we are a church, that has nothing to do with a building or a crowd. I need to tell the most vulnerable in our family, those who are at a high risk of suffering the greatest impact to please not feel any compulsion to be here on campus during this time. We care about you and we do not want you to put your health at risk.
We are going to livestream services from campus. We will be here if you need us. We want to stay connected with you personally. We have made a way for you to join us live through a new website. www.sbctecumseh.com. You can go to this site and watch live and archived messages that we pray will feed your faith. Finances are not our focus but as you know we will continue to incur budget needs during this crisis. Please join with my family and I to continue to give and support the ministries and mission of Sharon Baptist Church. (You can give through the website or mail to 19002 Gordon Cooper Drive, Shawnee, OK 74801) Please continue to pray for the nation and each other. Please continue to participate in a ministry of caring for others by calling to check on the vulnerable and offer your help. Please remember that the curse of sin is only conquered with the gospel. Be faithful to present the gospel in your context. Until April 1, you are welcome to join us on campus as we record, but we recommend that you use your best judgment regarding social interaction.
We will have no Sunday School, Sunday night or Midweek activities on campus. We are livestreaming services but we are filming with the doors unlocked and will not turn anyone away. We will update consistently through the website and Facebook but again our recommendation is that you do what is necessary to stay safe.
Bro Clint and Your Sharon Baptist Church Staff
Sharon Baptist Church began in 1949 with a commitment to reach the world with the gospel and helping individuals discover God's purpose for their life. Since that time the church has grown and many things have changed, but our commitment is still the same! We have a desire to be a place where families can come and discover what it means to be a follower of Jesus and discover God's purpose, experience God's power and develop a great passion for the Lord.
